I'm Laura.
I have been passionate about photography since I was at school and as soon as I combined this with combat sports, I found my niche. At Lancaster University, I began my martial arts journey, beginning with Wing Chun Kung Fu, before transitioning into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). Now, I train out of the fantastic Kaizen Academy and love shooting and creating digital content for this elite school.
I currently hold a purple belt in BJJ and very much enjoy travelling internationally to shoot competitions. I have a particular love and support for women's BJJ; they always give the most exciting matches!

From grass-roots
beginnings.
I have been dedicated to progressing my photographic skills for many years. In 2016 I had the opportunity to join P&O Cruises as a photographer; during this time I circumnavigated the world, followed by a tour of Europe and the Norwegian Fjords. I created lasting memories and was able to hone my creative instincts into capturing the images you will find across this site.
On my return to the UK, I was straight back into my sports focus, teaming up with promotions such as Empire Grappling and Evolution of Combat (MMA).
Since then, I've also had the opportunity to work with other promotions and gyms, including ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club), IBJJF (International BJJ Federation) and Enyo Submission Grappling Invitational

Kaizen Academy is a fantastic facility in Lancaster city. With community spirit at it's heart, this school teaches combat sports to a wide range of children (age 3+) and adults.
I have enjoyed documenting their growth, particularly the ladies BJJ team.

I have been shooting combat sport competitions since 2018.
I am a regular photographer at Empire Grappling Events and have documented further competitions such as ADCC, Enyo, Evolution of Combat, BJJ247 to name just a few.
